AOS2's release is just making less and less sense since the last game was it's predecessor. I got to thinking although the game is great and all people want to see more than me releasing just one series title at a time. Playing AOS2 build now did paint a smile on my face and it's really close to getting finished but I looked back and thought "hey what about games like Bio War?" And I remembered there are 50+ unfinished project I started that I've never went back to. So Starting today I'm gonna work on AOS2 but I'm always gonna work on release older projects and along the line AOS2 will be released.

Returning weapons and New Weapons

Stik War II is in the re works and I couldn't better more happy about it. I have more knowledge on coding now leading to more and more expansive ideas and giving me more space to really let loose on creativity this time around. I have already decided on what Weapons are currently returning, but I'm going to explain something new.

A new feature for the series coming along are rival weapons. To explain these are weapons that are great for countering one anothers abilities such as the Mk-3 assault rifle with the ever faithful grenade mount versus the new AK-47 with grenade mount. The Mk-3 is more powerful in its bullets and grenade shell but its also less accurate while the AK-47 is faster and more accurate and while it's bullets and grenade are weaker they go farther. It'll be more interesting to see what other weapons will rival one another as production goes who know maybe a sonic cannon can go versus a magnetic railgun (oops spoiler)

Weapons that are returning to Stik War 2 are as follows with their secondary fire:

MK-3 assault rifle(standard assault rifle) - grenade launcher mount
The Rain(ballistic Gel Ricochet rifle) - rain cloud
The Whirlwind(wind Rifle) - Whirlwind vortex
Cyclone(Wind Rifle) - Disabling Tornado
The Slug(Disease rifle) - Viral Disabler
Komodo(Fireball cannon) - Fire Pit

And Some newer weapons confirmed:

Vulcan(Ion burst rifle) - Standalone Ionic Burst
Winchester 21(Boomstick) - none
743 Behemoth(chaingun) - none
Splitter(Metallic Ricochet Rifle) - 9 split
Beam of Life(Cross Level laser) - Concentrate laser
The Predator Launcher(Mini Rocket launcher) - Lock-on
Shocker(Electric rifle) - shock cloud
Bolt(Eletric cannon) - EMP cloud
The Ripper(Sharp Short Range Bolt shotgun) - none
Blu Vulcan(Ion Burst Rifle) - Ion Spire
Uzi - can dual wield
AK-47 - Grenade mount
Law Rocket - none
Remote Missile - Control missile
Ragna Rail(Magnetic lasers) - Magnetic pulse

This is a taste of the new crazy weapons I have planned for my flagship return

Stik War II and Stik War Begins

So I made a decision a while back whether or not I should split the multiplayer aspect of Stik War Begins (Rebuilding) from the main storyline. Stik War is mainly about a good multiplayer experience with your buddy and player around with the wacky weapon design and seeing what goes best in different places. My personal favorite was the "Slug" (Purple and White gun that secondary fire temporarily stunned opponenents) And Stik War Begins was my first attempt to really delivery a hard hitting gritty sci-fi tale using Stik War engineered weaponry.

The idea of Storytelling is still gonna go along but recently I rebooted and began rebuilding my engine for SWB and really thought that maybe the multiplayer should be delivered as a new game with a Standard Numerical series number.

This decision is still in the deciding stage.

A Story to Tease :)

Both planets Rykus 5 and Tridian have been engaged in interplanetary warfare for around 5 years due to an extremely valuable substance named Rhidanium, which is mainly stored in Asteroids in the Vellium Belt.

Rykus 5 is a planet that is heavy on mining, and fairly advanced in its technology. They rely on their mining for business (namely the ore for the metal used to make their technology and various minerals) and profit. However due to material running low for their businesses, trade caravans began coming less and less. Rhidanium due to it’s high value is a means for Rykus to rebuild their economy.

Tridian is highly advanced in their technology often relying on it to make weapons and androids for sale to other militaries. However due to a large fuel defect that caused a massive explosion in a shipment of 200 security drones while being transported to the planet Yarus. The IFPR (Interplanetary Federation Planetary Regulation), which often counts on Tridian for excellent tools for planetary defense, sized the matter up and declared that thousands could have died due to this defect if it had made it to it’s destination, however this is the first it had occurred and gave Tridian 1 year to find and solve this problem, but until then there will be no more sales or transports from that planet. This decision lead to a severe cut in Tridian’s weapons, fuel, and research funding. Tridian was at a loss, the planet would eventually go into a huge economic downturn; Many people lost jobs and it became a free for all for money and food, leading to the Tridian Civil War.

2 years later Tridian researchers had discovered that Rhidanium has very useful fuel properties and actually can be used as a replacement to their original fuel source for weaponry and technology, as it was much safer. This lead to them pursuing Rhidanium with great ambition.

The conflict had started due to heavy claims on mining territory for both planets and one or the other crossing over into them for more land, shelter, or profit. This created a uneven struggle between both planets often to gain control over the Rhidanium. Often incidents occurred where a struggle or two broken out due to intrusion, but the real conflict had started when 3 Rykan miners were found burned to death in a Tridian research outpost where Tridian researchers were doing their new fuel compound testing. This lead to extreme hostility between both sides, but for different reasons.

Rykan officials had claimed that the deaths were no accident and that Tridian had simply became too violent in dealing with a somewhat minor infraction (trespassing), and that they had no right to kill three hard working men over it. While Tridian had gone on to question the motives of these men who were trespassing in a Tridian outpost in the first place. Calling them “sneaky” and “unethical” and even went on to accuse Rykus 5 of simply wanting to steal Tridian’s new fuel compound for a profit of their own. While still claiming the deaths of the Rykan men to be accidental.

What soon followed was a large public backlash against Tridian from Rykus 5. The families of the three men who had died lead a movement of boycott against Tridian technology. This didn’t affect Tridian much considering that sales and shipments weren’t being stopped to Rykus 5. Tridian citizens however became less angry about the situation as they were still dealing with the aftereffects of the Civil War and rebuilding the economy off of the newly successful fuel source.

Outraged at Tridian’s remorseless action, independent Rykan parties who had originally been part of the movement to boycott developed more drastic measures to put a message across. 50 radicals hijacked 5 Tridian weapon shipments and used them to infiltrate their defense cause havoc. In a 3 day action the radicals destroyed approx. $1.7 million worth of technology, facility, and weaponry before being apprehended.

Tridian had taken this gross overreaction as no more than a sign of war, hold Rykus 5 100% responsible for the independent movement.

They began a full scale and this begins our tale…

AOS2 Final Boss Update + Updates

I finally came up with an idea for my final boss finale of AOS2 single player. It's gonna be a great ending for the whole entire ride through the campaign. I'm not gonna spoil it completely but I"m gonna give hints to what it's gonna be like in some key words.

Two, Big, Bomb, Laser, Finale

And after the game is beaten I'm gonna make sure there's a reason for any player to go through the game at least one more time. Or attempt to anyway lol.

And I'm not making it final yet on the inverted screen filter removal. People started to shrug them off like "Oh look another fighter game" Developers started to look in all other directions like adventure or shooter games. No one cared about the fighters anymore.
But Now since the resurgence of Street Fighter and MVC2, Fighters are really getting the balls to come back out and show what they got. Games like BlazBlue (although somewhat complicated), KOF XII (Which was shit), and Tekken 6 all came out and showed what they had and response is getting better. Now with Capcom's up and coming charge leading the front with MVC3 and this new Street Fighter X Tekken and Tekken X Street Fighter, Ed Boon couldn't sit still on this one and the beloved Mortal Kombat Franchise has once more resurfaced to really show everyone who's really got nuts.
The Back to back battle between Midway and Capcom has come again as Street Fighter 4 and MVC3 has to stand up to the new juggernaut simply named Mortal Kombat. It really isn't a coincidence that Ed boon showed his bushy brows just as Capcom is getting up it's momentum. And Namco had to get its ass saved by Capcom otherwise their relevancy was simply vanishing.
So in summary Capcom has single handedly saved an entire genre from extinction. Because God knows that another Tekken game really wouldn't have done it.

Back from my 10+ Day Break; Update!

So recently I had severe trouble with my internet reception and was knocked off the internet for 9 days straight :( meaning me blogging daily had scattered a bit but I'm back now. So going into recent development starting off with the almost complete AOS2 which I admit took alot longer than it should. I'm at work at fixing up the last boss to be good and worthy of the 60 level trek. And so far the results are coming along great I've even started composing a song specifically for it named "Calling the end" it's not quite finished for I do have a sneak peak of how it will sound. That's so far in the development in AOS2, good stuff.

In the Development for Little Astronauts 2 I've been in the lab everyday and been brainstorming Ideas on what to do and bring in and of course the model of the little astronaut is not done yet but it's getting there all it needs is hands and feet and a few other details. Here's an interesting fact about the model that the helmet alone is up most 34000+ polygons <img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 180px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_Os8tb2U2PzY/THWDBnDwefI/AAAAAAAAADc/W_1tTWevUa0/s320/Evolution.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5509453782845520370" /> which is about 1/4 the polygons in the entire previous space man model. It's been going great in that development and I hope to see a product by the end of the year. :)

I won't be doing much development (or blogging) however until next Wednesday. I'm gonna be partying it up at a family reunion in Brooklyn for a week. I'll be sure to take pictures and post em up me and Stan Lee (no) and at the statue :) and probably more.

This is all that's been going on.

Development 8/12/10

Posting just today because yesterday my internet was on teh fritz O.0 So The development for today included a huge change in the art style. The art looks semi realist with a heavy given Cartoon shading. It looks to say the least Amazing! It has the look of a moving comic book so to say (like Marvel vs Capcom 3 somewhat) Also new modifications were made to the helmet so it isn't 100% official but I like the build.

Production began today :)

Today marked a special day for me. In the fact that I enjoyed it highly, I was able to get back in the lab at ATC and start modeling again for my sequel to my animation Little Astronauts. And launch my grand scheme to send them more abroad to our Red Giant, Mars

And as soon as i got in there I really felt the creativity start to flow all over again it felt great :) Just like old times with my teacher still there too he's a great guy. So the production began great with me already being able to model and set up the astronaut Helmet and Mars enough so that I was actually able to render a promos shot for it. <img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 180px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_Os8tb2U2PzY/TGIa5jUgv6I/AAAAAAAAADU/HLdekw3CC5U/s320/LA+2+Teaser+Poster.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5503991270636306338" /> The helmet design (although not very visible) was based off of a recent pic I found of a Pressure suit of an astronaut and to me it rather seems more up to date than my previous model helmet as seen in this early rendering <img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 180px;" src="http://i342.photobucket.com/albums/o431/DeathandGrim2/LittleAstronautsA.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="Pik-Cher" /> The art style is once again going to approach the light hearted cartoon/cel shaded style of the original with a bit more detail in the material to capture a semi-realistic quality, suchs of course the reflection on the helmet and the texture on the ground. For me this was a great day for modeling kind indeed and I'm planning to enter in the first (or second) animation in the NASA art competition for the next year to actually hopefully let people truly see my ambitions. Please do enjoy when the Little Astronauts plant their little boots on Planet Mars. I'm shooting for 3 minutes long and a lot of detail is gonna be put into this to make sure that even the most discerning critic would really take the time to appreciate it in it's regard.

I'm just glad today went so well in that aspect. Wish me luck in my coming months of development. :)

~Death

New Song for GMFreak ! So take a listen and comment below on what ya thought.

Take a listenTake a Listen This song belongs to GMF and Me; not up for use

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://ph3devblog.blogspot.com/2010/08/new-song-for-gmfreak-take-listen.html' title='New Song for GMFreak ! I really don't like how it was set up just seemed too dull and easy to do.

So I came up with a new mode that I thought would be more fun :) Currently in theory it'll be like that game that you defend Earth with against meteors with the turret only with the Starfighter instead. Having enemies spawn at the top and destroy the planet

Should be pretty fun if done right. :)

New Blog

So this is my new blog that I started to inform people of upcoming games I have coming out what competitions I'm entering artwork and sooo much more!

About: I recently after a pretty good hiatus actually got to exercise and expand my skill set.
